Costumes took the place of uniforms at Pamana Kali’s annual Halloween party in Culver City on October 30, 2026.
Our kids came together for games, costumes, and treats, continuing a tradition we’ve enjoyed for 13 years. They had a blast—and it was a welcome chance to spend time together outside our usual class routine.
A different kind of class gathering
During regular classes, we spend our time learning and practicing Kali. Our Halloween celebration gives the kids a chance to enjoy the friendships they’re building along the way.
This year, we played games, enjoyed everyone’s costumes, and finished the evening with treats. It was a simple way to close a busy October and celebrate together.
A tradition worth keeping
Thirteen years (Counting the Shield Karate days before we merged with Pamana Kali.) of Halloween celebrations have made this gathering a familiar part of life at Pamana Kali.
Alongside the training, these shared experiences help make our school a place where students and families get to know one another. We value the time we spend learning together and the moments when we can simply have fun.
Thank you to our students and families for being part of this year’s celebration and for keeping the tradition going.
Closing out a meaningful October
Our Halloween party rounded out a month that also included a conversation about Filipino American representation at Tubi and a gathering with Culver City Kapwa at City Hall for Filipino American History Month.
Each occasion gave us a different way to connect—with our heritage, our wider community, and the families who train with us each week.
Our work continues each week as we practice, share, and pass on Filipino culture through the martial arts of Kali. Thank you for being a part of it.
